He came, he chatted, he dined on pasta and veal.

The staff and customers at Natalia's got a thrill Thursday night when Hollywood legend Harrison Ford came for dinner.

Restaurant owner Natalia del Basso Orsini told 13WMAZ's Ben Jones that Ford called ahead Thursday for a table at the upscale Italian restaurant on Bass Road. Although she was all booked up, she made room for the star of the Star Wars and Indiana Jones films.

Wearing a T-shirt, he arrived with two other men -- one of them his pilot, she said.

She set up a hidden table in a back room, she said, but Ford preferred to eat in the middle of the dining room instead.

Ford chatted with several other diners and Natalia herself spoke to him for about 5 minutes.

She said she'll remember his deep, calming voice and said he seemed like "the nicest guy in the world."

Natalia's has hosted many celebrities, the owner said, but Ford is "the biggest of the big."

He is in town for the filming of "42," the story of how Jackie Robinson broke baseball's color barrier. Ford plays Branch Rickey, the Brooklyn Dodgers executive who signed Robinson.

A movie spokesman would not say how long Ford will be in town.
