PEOPLE WILL HAVE TO APPLY WITH THE MACON-BIBB ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY COUNCIL FOR THE PROGRAM...
...STARTING THIS TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY... THE TENTH AND ELEVENTH... AT SAINT PAUL A-M-E CHURCH AT 25-01 SHURLING DRIVE.
THEN ON JANUARY 18TH AND 20TH... THEY MOVE TO UNION BAPTIST CHURCH AT 11-37 KITCHENS STREET.
THE LAST DATES ARE JANUARY 24TH AND 25TH... AT UNIONVILLE BAPTIST CHURCH AT 38-37 HOUSTON AVENUE.
STARTING AT 7 A-M... THE E-O-C WILL HAND OUT NUMBERS TO THE FIRST 250 PEOPLE IN LINE ON EACH OF THOSE DATES.

CRITICS OF THE DEATH PENALTY ARE PLANNING A MAJOR RALLY TOMORROW... ON THE START OF THE 40-DAY LEGISLATIVE SESSION.
THE NAACP... AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL... RELIGIOUS LEADERS AND LAWMAKERS PLAN TO GATHER AT THE STATEHOUSE TO URGE LEGISLATORS TO ABOLISH THE DEATH PENALTY.
THE NAACP GEORGIA CHAPTER PRESIDENT SAYS THE RALLY WILL HONOR TROY ANTHONY DAVIS.
HE WAS EXECUTED IN SEPTEMBER FOR THE MURDER OF AN OFF-DUTY SAVANNAH OFFICER.
SUPPORTERS SAY HE WAS WRONGFULLY CONVICTED.

WARNER ROBINS POLICE IDENTIFIED THE MAN SHOT IN THE HEAD YESTERDAY MORNING AS 31-YEAR-OLD JONATHAN HASLEM.
POLICE SPOKESWOMAN TABITHA PUGH SAYS OFFICERS RESPONDED TO THE AMERICAN LEGION ON MOODY ROAD.. IN REFERENCE TO A MAN SHOT.
AN AMERICAN LEGION SPOKESMAN SAYS HASLEM WAS SHOT UP THE STREET AND WENT TO THE BUILDING TO GET HELP.
PUGH SAYS HASLEM WAS RELEASED FROM THE MEDICAL CENTER SATURDAY AFTERNOON.
SHE SAYS POLICE ARE STILL INVESTIGATING THE CASE.

Candles burned through the night at the University of Arizona in Tuscon, where thousands gathered to remember that city's darkest day. Among the crowd, Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, still recovering from a bullet to her brain she received in a shooting that left six dead, 12 others injured, and a nation in shock.

It was just after 10am on January 8th, 2011, when life in Tuscon changed. Giffords was making an appearance outside a Safeway store, when a gunman started firing. The Congresswoman was shot in the head. Among the dead, a federal judge, and 9-year-old Christina-Taylor Green.

Suzi Hileman was shot three times, and watched her young friend Christina die... She says memorial events help heal her broken heart.

Giffords has amazed her doctors with her recovery... But still has a way to go. She returned to the shooting scene for the first time Saturday. {STILL PHOTO} Her husband tweeted this picture of her pointing to where she parked that day. {from Evening News pkg} As for the accused gunman, Jared Lee Loughner pleaded not guilty to 49 charges... He is receiving treatment for mental illness in a Missouri prison while awaiting trial.
