THE CITY OF WARNER ROBINS IS ABOUT TO GET STARTED ON A 28-POINT-SIX MILLION DOLLAR UPGRADE TO THE WATER TREATMENT PLANT.
COUNCIL VOTED TONIGHT TO PAY A JACKSONVILLE FLORIDA COMPANY 60-THOUSAND DOLLARS TO OVERSEE THE PLANS.
THE CURRENT WATER TREATMENT PLANT IS JUST OFF HIGHWAY 247... NEAR ANCHOR GLASS.
MAYOR CHUCK SHAHEEN SAYS IT PROCESSES SIX AND HALF MILLION GALLONS OF WATER EACH DAY... BUT THEY NEED IT TO DO MORE.
SHAHEEN SAYS THE UPGRADE WILL BUMP IT UP TO 12 MILLION GALLONS A DAY.
HE SAYS THAT CAPACITY WILL HELP THE CITY ATTRACT INDUSTRY.
Really this is just another piece of the puzzle to become more marketable for economic development to bring in more industry, to create more jobs. We can't create industry and jobs unless we have sewer to support it."
SHAHEEN SAID CONSTRUCTION SHOULD START IN THE NEXT TWO MONTHS.. AND BE FINISHED IN ABOUT A YEAR AND A HALF.
ALSO TONIGHT.. WARNER ROBINS ONLY BOWLING ALLEY WILL NOW BE ALLOWED TO SELL ALCOHOL ON SUNDAY.... IF THEY WANT TO APPLY FOR A SUNDAY SALES LICENSE.
COUNCIL MEMBER PAUL SHEALY SAID THE CITY LEFT "BOWLING ALLEYS" OFF THE LIST DURING THE NOVEMBER SUNDAY SALES VOTE.
SHEALY SAYS STATE LAW REQUIRES CITY'S THAT ALLOW BUSINESSES TO SELL ON SUNDAYS... TO INCLUDE BOWLING ALLEYS.
"It just brings it up to a level playing field and it was not an oversight on our part. It came from the state and I'm sure that other cities are complying with that."
A SECOND BOWLING ALLEY IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION IN WARNER ROBINS... AS PART OF FAMILY FUN CENTER BEING BUILT ON HIGHWAY 96.
THE OWNER... STEVE RIGBY.. SAYS HE WANTED TO OPEN IN APRIL.. BUT RAIN HAS SLOWED CONSTRUCTION.
IN HOUSTON COUNTY... VOTERS WILL CHECK YES OR NO TO A QUESTION ABOUT EXTENDING A PENNY SALES TAX.
COMMISSIONERS SAY THE SPLOST WOULD RAISE AN ESTIMATED 155 MILLION DOLLARS DURING SIX YEARS.
COLLECTIONS WOULD BE SPLIT TO PAY FOR PROJECTS IN WARNER ROBINS... PERRY... CENTERVILLE... AND UNICORPORATED PARTS OF THE COUNTY
THE LARGEST PORTION WOULD GO TO PROJECTS THAT BENEFIT THE ENTIRE COUNTY... SUCH AS AN UPGRADED 9-1-1 RADIO SYSTEM... AND BUYING PROPERTY TO SOLVE THE ENCROACHMENT PROBLEM AT THE END OF THE ROBINS AIR FORCE BASE RUNWAY.
WILCOX COUNTY'S SHERIFF APPEARED BEFORE A FEDERAL JUDGE AND AGREED TO RESIGN.
STACY BLOODSWORTH FACES CHARGES THAT INCLUDE BEATING A PRISONER AND LYING TO FEDERAL INVESTIGATORS ABOUT IT.
DOZENS OF PEOPLE DROVE UP FROM WILCOX COUNTY TODAY TO THE U-S DISTRICT COURT IN MACON TO SEE HIS DAY IN COURT.
THE SHERIFF AGREED TO RESIGN BEFORE A FEDERAL JUDGE THIS AFTERNOON AS PART OF HIS BOND AGREEMENT.
U.S. ATTORNEY MICHAEL MOORE SAYS THEY WITHDREW THEIR PETITION TO DETAIN BLOODSWORTH BECAUSE HE AGREED TO THEIR BOND CONDITIONS.
SOME CALLED BLOODSWORTH A FRIEND AND A GOOD SHERIFF.
OTHERS SAY IT'S ABOUT TIME HE WAS BROUGHT TO JUSTICE.
Me and him friends, family friends. Crime is less in Wilcox than any town that's around. We got less crime. And all I can say about him is good.
I'm 72 years old. I have lived in Wilcox County for 72 years. I have four children and six grandchildren and I fear for their safety with the law that he is providing.
BLOODSWORTH ALSO POSTED A 25-THOUSAND DOLLAR BOND... AGREED TO PAY FOR AN ELECTRONIC MONITORING SYSTEM.. AND CAN NOT RUN FOR ANY ELECTED OFFICE WHILE THE CASE IS PENDING.
TWO OTHER DEFENDENTS IN THE CASE.... WILLIE JAMES CARUTHERS.. WHO WAS AN INMATE AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT... AND BLOODSWORTH'S SON AUSTIN WERE ALSO GIVEN BOND AGREEMENTS TODAY.
A FOURTH PERSON... CASEY OWENS DID NOT APPEAR IN COURT...
GEORGIA HAS JOINED A NUMBER OF STATES FILING LEGISLATION CHALLENGING AN OBAMA ADMINISTRATION
DECISION THAT SEEKS TO GUARANTEE EMPLOYEES OF RELIGION-AFFILIATED INSTITUTIONS REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH COVERAGE.
THAT INCLUDES CONTRACEPTION.
COLUMBUS REPUBLICAN JOSH MCKOON HAS FILED SENATE BILL 460.
IT RECOGNIZES BIRTH CONTROL AS BENEFICIAL TO WOMEN AND THE FAMILY PLANNING PROCESS... BUT WOULD NOT REQUIRE CHURCH-AFFILIATED EMPLOYERS TO PROVIDE CONTRACEPTION.
SIMILAR BILLS HAVE BEEN FILED RECENTLY IN IDAHO.. MISSOURI.. AND ARIZONA.
OVER A HUNDRED AFRICAN AMERICAN CENTRAL GEORGIANS HAVE FINALLY BEEN LAID TO REST TODAY.
SLAVES AND FREED MEN WERE ORIGINALLY BURIED IN AN UNMARKED CEMETERY DURING THE MID TO LATE 1800s.
IT WAS RE-DISCOVERED IN 2007... WHEN THE GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION WAS WORKING ON EXTENDING SARDIS CHURCH ROAD IN MACON.
ONCE THEY WERE BURIED IN UNMARKED GRAVES...NOW NUMBERED PLAQUES HONOR THESE 101 NINETEENTH CENTURY AFRICAN AMERICANS.
EACH NUMBER...REPRESENTING THE GRAVE OF A SLAVE OR FREED PERSON...
Tamblyn Womack, Macon: 04:00 Because I know that they were was not free, now I'm free and that they had a decent burial now.
TUESDAY....THEIR DESCENDANTS LEFT A SINGLE FLOWER ON EACH GRAVE.
Rev. Skip Mason, Atlanta:5:51 I was just standing there very proud to be connected, you know, and very honored to know and very thankful that these are my people and I was standing here.
FOR DECADES....THE GRAVES WERE FORGOTTEN....IN THE WOODS NEAR SOUTH AIRPORT ROAD IN BIBB COUNTY.
Tamblyn Womack, Macon: 01:22 To know that I have relatives that I passed along that road, not even knowing that they was buried there, it was truly a, an experience.
THE GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION DISCOVERED THE REMAINS IN 2007....WHILE PLANNING A STATE HIGHWAY PROJECT.
THE GRAVES WERE MOVED TO MAKE WAY FOR THE SARDIS CHURCH ROAD EXTENSION.
HISTORICAL RESEARCH...AND D-N-A TESTING....HELPED IDENTIFY DESCENDANTS OF THE PEOPLE BURIED HERE.
THEY APPARENTLY WORKED ON THE MCARTHUR PLANTATION AND OTHER PLANTATIONS NEARBY... OR WERE PART OF THE TENANT FARMER COMMUNITY.
TUESDAY....THEIR DESCENDANTS VISITED THEIR GRAVES AT THE NEW SITE....BETHEL A-M-E CHURCH IN BYRON....
Rev. Skip Mason, Atlanta:05:08 To be able to say I can stand and stake claim and to lay eyes on it I think is a great honor and opportunity
NOW THESE CENTRAL GEORGIA SLAVES AND FREED PEOPLE HAVE MARKED GRAVES....WHERE FUTURE GENERATIONS CAN VISIT.

TWITTER SAYS IT'S BEEN RECORDING MORE INFORMATION THAN JUST YOUR TWEETS.
USERS WHO INSTALLED THE POPULAR SOCIAL NETWORKING TOOL ON THEIR SMARTPHONES ARE UNKNOWINGLY SHARING THEIR CONTACT LIST... BROWSING HISTORY AND OTHER DETAILS.
KARA TSUBOI BREAKS DOWN WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE SITUATION... IN THIS WEEK'S GEEK 13.
TRACK ONE: Download the Twitter app to your smartphone and get ready to share more than your tweets. Once you agree to "find friends," Twitter starts collecting your personal information.
Rafe Needleman / CNET Editor-At-Large
"When you use the application, in order to match you with other users who might be using it, your address book goes up to the server and that's what Twitter was doing."
TRACK TWO: Besides your contacts' names, phone numbers and email address, Twitter records browsing history and search terms.
Rafe Needleman / CNET Editor-At-Large
"What Twitter wasn't telling people was that they were keeping that address book for 18 months which is a long time to keep all of your personal data."
TRACK THREE: In an email to the Los Angeles Times, Twitter spokeswoman Carolyn Penner said, quote,
"We want to be clear and transparent in our communications with users. Along those lines, in our next app updates, which are coming soon, we are updating the language associated with Find Friends -- to be more explicit."
TRACK FOUR: CNET's Rafe Needleman says Twitter, however, is not alone.
Rafe Needleman / CNET Editor-At-Large
"All the social companies are doing this. Some of them tell you, some of them don't. Should we be concerned? Yes."
TRACK FIVE: The reaction from Twitter users in downtown San Francisco was mixed.
Danny Orsburn / San Francisco, CA
"I always wonder about where the information is going to go and what other use it's going to have."
Darren Brazil / Danville, CA
"I don't mind. I figure if you use the internet, you better get used to the fact that you don't have any privacy."
Urmila Kashyap / San Mateo, CA
"I don't think I'm very uncomfortable with that because if there's something I want to share then I don't mind sharing it."
Kara Tsuboi / ON CAMERA STANDUP
"Because of public and governmental pressure, most apps being written now, or updated like Twitter, will include warnings, allowing users to authorize or opt-out of the sharing of this personal information.
