Romney NATS: "Hi how are you?"

Romney toured Google's offices in Chicago earlier today.

Republican opponents. He promised to reach across the aisle if he makes it to
the White House.

SOT: (Mitt Romney/R-Presidential Candidate) "I will either get it done or die
trying. I tell you, I'm going to do everything to bring people together."

Romney saturated the airwaves in Illinois - he and his supporters spent more
than three million on ads...(graphic) but a CBS News exit poll shows a
majority of voters did not consider the ads important in their decision.

Standup: (Danielle Nottingham/Schaumburg, IL) "The candidates will divide up
54 delegates from this primary. Romney has already collected more than his
rivals combined.. he says his lead is already big enough that he 'll
eventually be the Republican nominee.

NATS

Rick Santorum insists the race is actually much closer.

in a final push to win over conservative  voters.

SOT: (Rick Santorum/R-Presidential Candidate) "We need a candidate who's going
to be a fighter for freedom."

Gingrich spent his day campaigning in Louisiana.

SOT: (Newt Gingrich/R-Presidential Candidate) "I think we have a very, very
good chance to win a lot of delegates here in Louisiana."

Voters in Louisiana head to the polls Saturday.
MORE THAN TWENTY COUNTIES IN ILLINOIS REPORTED PROBLEMS WITH BALLOTS TODAY--- THE BALLOTS WERE TOO LARGE FOR THE SCANNING MACHINES WHICH REQUIRED THEM TO BE TRIMMED BEFORE THEY COULD BE COUNTED.

CONSOLIDATION OF THE MACON AND BIBB COUNTY GOVERNMENTS MOVED ONE STEP CLOSER TO GETTING ON THE JULY BALLOT.
THE SENATE APPROVED THE HOUSE VERISON WITH A FEW MINOR CHANGES.
SENATOR CECIL STATON OF MACON SAYS.... IT'S HEADING BACK TO THE HOUSE.. SO THE CHAMBER CAN CONSIDER THE TWEAKS MADE BY THE SENTATE.
STATON SAYS THE SENATE MADE SOME TWEAKS.. SUCH AS ELIMINATING THE SENTENCE THAT SAID THE

MAYOR COULD APPOINT A POLICE CHIEF.. AND SAYS THE TOP COP WILL BE THE ELECTED SHERIFF.
HE ALSO SAID THE SENATE CHANGED THE ELECTION DISTRICTS IN THE NEW GOVERNMENT.
STEE REPRESENTATIVE ALAN PEAKE EXPECTS THE HOUSE TO GO ALONG WITH THE SENATE CHANGES AND SEND THE BILL TO GOVERNOR NATHAN DEAL FOR HIS SIGNATURE..
ONCE THAT HAPPENS - THE CONSOLIDATION ISSUE WOULD APPEAR ON THE JULY 31 PRIMARY BALLOT..
PEAKE SAYS IT WOULD ALSO GIVE LOCAL SUPPORTERS THE OPPORTUNITY TO TELL VOTERS WHY THEY FEEL THE TWO GOVERNMENTS SHOULD BE CONSOLIDATED.
THINGS GOT A BIT HEATED IN A MACON COMMITTEE MEETING THIS AFTERNOON.
WORK FORCE DEVELOPMENT BROUGHT UPDATES BEFORE THE COMMUNITY RESOURCES AND DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE.
AS AMY AUBERT SHOWS YOU... BOTH GROUPS LEFT CITY HALL WITH UNANSWERED QUESTIONS.
Nats, arguing

TENSIONS RAN HIGH... AS COMMITTEE MEMBERS SEARCHED FOR ANSWERS... ABOUT A FEW CONTRACTS... WITHIN THE WORK FORCE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM.

Nats, Benedict: "If there's no problem with us reviewing these bids, then why don't you just submit them? To end this controversy? Has your board directed you not to do so?"
Nats, Kathy Thompson: "I don't have to do so."
Nats, Benedict: "My question is has your board directed you not to do so?"
Nats, Thompson: "Absolutly not."

WORK FORCE DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR... KATHY THOMPSON SAYS... THEY DON'T HAVE TO SUBMIT CONTRACTS TO THE CITY... BUT SOME COUNCIL MEMBERS SAY OTHERWISE.

Lauren Benedict: "Despite the good work that they do employing youth and others in our community, they still are using tax dollars. City tax dollars, county tax dollars, state and federal dollars as well. Because of that, they need to be subject to oversight."

Nats, Hutto: "We are responsible. If something comes back and they say this consulting contract was not bid correctly, guess who's on the hook? We are."

COUNCIL MEMBER RICK HUTTO SAYS... THE CITY DOES THE GROUP'S FINANCES... CHECK WRITING... AND SAYS WORK FORCE DEVELOPMENT EMPLOYEES ARE UNDER CITY HEALTH CARE AND PENSIONS.. BUT HE SAYS THE GROUP WON'T LET THEM IN ON THEIR CONTRACT SPENDING.
HE CLAIMS THE GROUP DOESN'T ASSOCIATE THEMSELVES WITH THE CITY.

Rick Hutto: "The mayor paid more than $4,000 to move the new director here in moving expenses, but they're saying, 'Oh, that's not reimbursable, that's a cost of the city.' Well, which is it? Are we your fiscal agent or are we not? You can't have it both ways."

THOMPSON TOLD THE COMMITTEE SHE PLANS TO CUT THE GROUP FROM THE CITY BY MARCH 31ST.

Hutto: "If we're going to cut the relationship with them, it has to be a clean cut. If we can't see the contracts, if we can't find out what's going on, if you won't show us your figures, then we shouldn't be responsible for it and we should just lock the door and say your on your own."

THE CITY ATTORNEY SAYS THE GROUP HAS TO GIVE 90 DAYS NOTICE BEFORE CUTTING TIES... BUT HUTTO SAYS THAT WILL STILL LEAVE WORK FORCE DEVELOPMENT'S PAYROLL AND BENEFITS... ON THE CITY.

AMY AUBERT 13 WMAZ EYEWITNESS NEWS.
THE COMMITTEE ASKED THE CITY ATTORNEY TO PROVIDE LEGISLATION IN THE MATTER... PINPOINTING WHETHER OR NOT THE GROUP HAS TO GO THROUGH THEM WITH CONTRACTS AND SPENDING.
THEY ALSO THREW AROUND THE IDEA OF INCORPORATING THE ISSUE INTO A WORK SESSION.
GROUPS COULD BE JUST STEPS AWAY... FROM GETTING TO WORK... ON SOME SPLOST POJECTS.
IN A FULL COUNCIL MEETING TONIGHT... MEMBERS PASSED AN ORDINANCE... ACCEPTING MORE THAN 19 MILLION DOLLARS IN BOND PROCEEDS... TO HELP GET TO WORK.
THE FIRST PROJECTS ON THE LIST INCLUDE THE TUBMAN MUSEUM... STORM DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS... CENTREPLEX IMPROVEMENTS... FORT HAWKINS... AND PUBLIC SAFETY EQUIPMENT.
COUNCIL MEMBER TOM ELLINGTON SAYS THEY'LL SPEND ABOUT 2 AND A HALF MILLION ON TUBMAN MUSEUM REPAIRS... BUT HE WASN'T SURE WHICH PARTS THEY'D FOCUS ON FIRST.
Tom Ellington, Council Member: "What they've communitcated with us so far is that this was the funding gap that stood between them and being able to complete the consturcution and open the new building on Cherry Street. So I think it's going to be a matter of managing the construction timelines and getting going there."
ELLINGTON SAYS THERE'S NO SET START DATE ON THE PRJECTS... BUT HE SAYS THEY'LL BREAK GROUND BEFORE JUNE 30TH.
THIS JULY.... ALL OF HOUSTON COUNTY COULD HAVE THE GREEN LIGHT TO SELL LIQUOR BY THE DRINK.
TONIGHT THE HOUSTON COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS VOTED UNANIMOUSLY TO PLACE SUNDAY SALES FOR UNINCORPORATED AREAS ON THE JULY BALLOT.
COUNTY COMMISSIONER TOM MCMICHAEL SAYS... IT'S JUST MIRRORING WHAT THE CITIES OF CENTERVILLE, PERRY AND WARNER ROBINS DID IN NOVEMBER.
VOTERS IN ALL THREE CITIES GAVE THE GO AHEAD FOR LIQUOR BY THE DRINK SALES ON SUNDAY.

JONES COUNTY SHERIFF BUTCH REECE SAYS THEY FOUND THE CAR OF MISSING HENRY COUNTY BUSINESSMAN DOUG COKER IN GRIFFIN.
REECE BELIEVES THE BODY DISCOVERED UNDER THE PORCH OF A HOME IN RIVER NORTH SUBDIVISION SUNDAY IS COKER ALTHOUGH INVESTIGATORS HAVE NOT OFFICIALLY CONFIRMED THAT.
FAMILY SPOKESMAN BUDDY WELCH SAYS COKER'S WIFE KNEW HE PLANNED TO GO TO MACON LAST TUESDAY MORNING AND SPOKE TO HIM BEFORE HE LEFT.
WELCH SAYS COKER... A FATHER OF FOUR AND GRANDFATHER OF SIX... OWNED SEVERAL BUSINESSES IN STOCKBRIDGE.
THE COMMUNITY HAS RALLIED AROUND THE FAMILY SINCE HE DISAPPEARED.
Welch: "They're devistated as tyou can imagine. To lose a father  to lose a husband is a terrible loss and to lose a person that was as kind and desent and family oriented as Doug was is even worse."
SHERIFF REECE SAYS COKER CAME TO MACON TO DISCUSS A BUSINESS DEAL WITH THE WOMAN ACCUSED OF KILLING HIM... PAMELA MOSS
REECE SAID SHE  WAS TAKEN TO A WAYNE COUNTY HOSPITAL OVERNIGHT FOR A DRUG OVERDOSE...AND IS NOW IN A COMA THERE.
MEXICO'S PRESIDENT SAYS THE THERE ARE NO REPORTS OF MAJOR DAMAGE AFTER A 7.4 MAGNITUDE EARTHQUAKE HIT MEXICO TODAY.
IT SHOOK CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN PARTS OF THE COUNTRY.... AND LEFT BUILDINGS SWAYING IN MEXICO CITY.
IT ALSO LEFT THOSE IN THE COUNTRY'S CAPITAL SHAKEN.
FRIGHTENED WORKERS AND CITIZENS OF THE CITY POURED INTO STREETS AS THEIR HOMES AND BUILDINGS BEGAN TO TREMBLE.
A PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE COLLAPSED AND CRUSHED THIS MICROBUS IN MEXICO CITY... BUT THERE WERE NO REPORTS OF DEATHS.
A LOCAL REPORTER IN THE CITY SAID... IT'S THE STRONGEST EARTHQUAKE HE'S EVER FELT IN HIS 27 YEARS OF LIVING IN MEXICO CITY.
HE SPOKE TO US BY PHONER EARLIER TODAY... ABOUT THE PANIC HE SAW.
And even by the time you were going out you could see that there were cracks, already, on the walls. That triggered the panic a lot. You know, on the streets you could see people crying. One of my collegues, from the administration department, she could harldy move, you know, once she was in the stairs. And is was basically me and another collegue basically pushing her. Okay, everything is gonna be fine, it's gonna be fine.
MEXICO'S NATIONAL SEISMOLOGICAL SURVEY SAID THE QUAKE ORIGINATED SIX MILES UNDERGROUND

AS YOU WATCH YOUR TELEVISION RIGHT NOW... IT MIGHT BE WATCHING YOU BACK.

AS SHARON CHIN SHOWS US IN THIS WEEK'S GEEK 13... YOU COULD BE PLANTING BUGGING DEVICES IN YOUR OWN HOME.
