Protests over an anti-Islam internet spread to Australia... but began to subside in the muslim world Saturday.
In the United States - federal authorities questioned a California man who may be behind the controversial film that sparked the world-wide violence.

Nakoula Basseley Nakoula wrapped a towel around his face to shield his identity as police took him in for questioning.
The southern california filmmaker is linked to an anti-islam movie that sparked deadly protests in the muslim world.
Federal authorties are trying to figure out if the 55- year-old's reported involvement violated a condition of his parole.

Riot police pushed back hundreds of demonstrators protesting the movie outside the American consulate in Sydney on Saturday.

In Cairo where the demonstrations began - officers cleared protestors from Tahrir Square.

In the wake of the violence... Pope Benedict the sixteenth is in Lebanon today trying to unite Christians and Muslims.
The pontiff planned the visit before the unrest broke out this week over an anti-Islamic film.
He met with Lebanon's president, who is a Maronite Christian, and he'll also meet with the country's other two top officials, who are Sunni and Shi'ite Muslims.

Today In Spain...Tens of thousands of demonstrators filled Madrid's central Plaza in a large anti-austerity protest.
Spain is facing a major economic crisis with a collapse in the housing market and unemployment near 25 percent.
The government has tightened it's belt with cuts to it's budget to secure loans.
The government estimated up to 65 thousand protesters in Madrid... But a spokesman for the demonstrating unions said it was closer to 1 million.
The protest was peaceful.... Though four people were arrested for refusing to show identification to police upon request.
Reality TV Stars Alana Thompson--- better known as Honey Boo Boo--- and her mother were in Macon today.
TLC-- the channel that airs Here Comes Honey Boo Boo-- invited press from Atlanta...Savannah...and even Charleston for interviews.

Austin: Candace I got 15 minutes to talk with them...and June Shannon was very nice. You could see that Honey Boo Boo had a lot of personality, but you could tell that she didn't like interviews. Take a listen.

I asked June Shannon many questions like how their lives changed and if show really captures who they are. But we also talked about how some say this show doesn't present Wilkinson County in the best light. This is what she had to say.
A local outreach ministry in Houston County gave back to the community today with health education school supplies.
New Life Global Outreach Ministries held their 2nd Annual Back to School Giveaway Bash and Health Screening today at the Houston Mall in Warner Robins.
Different vendors were on site--- including Houston County Healthcare, The Phoenix Center and many more.
The event offered free school supplies, free food, music, free blood pressure checks, and a bounce house for the kids.
A celebration of Native American culture kicked off today at the Ocmulgee National Monument in Macon.
More than 6-thousand people were expected to come out to learn about native american heritage.
The 20-12 Ocumulgee Indian Celebration offered arts and crafts for kids, storytelling and entertainment like singing and dancing.
Some who attended say it gives a first-hand glimpse into early Central Georgia history.
<we been enjoying the music and being able to find out some of what the history is on some of the dream catchers, my husband is a big fan of, the stones, again seeing the face paintings and learning what the things are, you only get to see this history in the books, so you are getting to see it face to face and it's interesting and it's different >
This marks the 21st year the Ocmulgee National Monument has held the event.
The Indian Celebration continues tomorrow from 10am - 6pm.
