Uber riders forgetting everything from divorce papers and jetpacks to packets of Dead Sea mud

You wouldn't believe some of the items that Uber riders forget ... or maybe, you would.

The popular ride-sharing service said customers have reported losing divorce papers, two packets of Dead Sea mud, a bulletproof vest, a jetpack, a Star Wars encyclopedia and an originally signed Jesse James Decker-CD, among other items.

One Uber rider reported losing "a letter from my boyfriend who is in jail," while another reported losing their brother.

Uber riders in Athens, Ga., are the nation's second most-forgetful city when it comes to leaving items behind, with DuBois, Pa., coming in first.

In Atlanta, the most frequently lost items are phones, keys, wallets, clothing, glasses, bags, headphones, backpacks, IDs and drivers licenses, and vapes. Also in Atlanta, some of the more unique items that have been reported lost are a wig, a box of doughnuts, sneakers, bags of groceries, a wedding band and golf clubs.

Here are some other interesting little tidbits from Uber's study:

  • Sunday, Monday and Saturday are the most common days of the week for Uber riders to report lost items.
  • On Sundays, people lose their phones the most.
  • On Mondays, there's a a spike in lost glasses.
  • On Tuesday, people lose their passports most often.
  • On Wednesdays, people tend to leave behind their books.
  • On Thursdays, people lose their laptops most.
  • On Fridays, people lose their backpacks the most.
  • On Saturdays, there's a spike in people losing money.
