ATLANTA -- Atlanta police have charged a man with murder several months after an 18-month-old baby passed away.
On June 8, officers responded to an apartment on Harwell Place. They found him not alert and not breathing. The child was transported to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Hughes Spalding, where she was pronounced dead.
Initially, the death was believed to have been from natural causes because there were no signs of trauma. However, an autopsy uncovered injuries not consistent with a natural death, police said. The cause of death was found to be blunt force trauma to the torso.
On Wednesday, Dec. 20, police announced that 29-year-old Michael Reynolds was arrested on charges of cruelty to children (1st degree) and felony murder.
