Police make huge meth bust in Adairsville McDonald's parking lot

Meth, marijuana, pills, scales, drug pipes and cash were confiscated.

ADAIRSVILLE, Ga. - Local police made a huge meth bust in Adairsville early Wednesday morning in the parking lot of a McDonald's.

Police stopped what they describe as a suspicious vehicle for a broken windshield around 2 am after they said the vehicle was spotted parked at two different businesses, one a Highway 140 truck stop and the other a local Quik-Trip.

Police then pulled the vehicle over in a McDonald's parking lot and found the driver, identified as Adam Hall, 39, was wanted on a parole violation.

Police said the front-seat passenger, Shannia Lau, 36, refused a police request to search the vehicle. Police then called Calhoun police to ask for K-9 assistance.

Police said they found more than two pounds of methamphetamine, more than four ounces of marijuana, several hundred prescription-drug pills, several digital scales, glass smoking pipes and more than $8,000 in cash.

Both Hall and Lau were arrested and are facing multiple drug charges.
