Several cities around Central Ga. have announced their plans to hold solar eclipse viewing events. Here are some of the larger ones in the region:


Coliseum Medical Center, Coliseum Northside Hospital

Moon Pies Over Macon will go from 2-4 p.m. at both Coliseum locations in Macon. People will come together to watch the eclipse while eating Moon Pies.

Museum of Arts and Sciences

The Museum of Arts and Sciences will host an event for the public to view the Solar Eclipse beginning at 10 a.m. There will be planetarium shows, arts and crafts, and an eclipse viewing.

Ocmulgee National Monument

The National Monument will be holding a talk and eclipse viewing from 2-3 p.m. Monday.


The Mary Vinson Memorial Library will hold a viewing party.

Warner Robins

The Museum of Aviation will host a viewing party that begins at 12:30 p.m. in the amphitheater. There will be activities for all ages and a live stream of the eclipse if you choose not to go outside.

Multiple cities (MGA Campuses)

Middle Georgia State University will be holding an event on all five of its campuses from noon to 4 p.m. the day of the eclipse.

The locations are as follows:

  • Cochran - Georgia Hall President's Dining Room (There will be a telescope observation of the eclipse in front of Dillard Hall)
  • Dublin - DUB 225
  • Eastman - City of Eastman Room
  • Macon - Teacher Education Building 202
  • Warner Robins - Thomas Hall 132
