Two people died Monday evening in an accident involving a semi-truck in Wilkinson County.

A release from the DPS Public Information Office says Georgia State Patrol responded to a double fatal crash around 8 p.m. at the intersection of US-441 and GA-112.

It was reported to them that a white Mazda 3 was traveling on GA-112 and tried to cross GA-29 when the driver failed to yield the right of way to an oncoming semi-truck.

The truck driver didn’t have time to react and hit the vehicle on its passenger side.

Both the driver and front seat passenger of the Mazda were killed.

The rear seat occupant survived the crash and is at the Medical Center, Navicent Health.

The semi-truck driver was taken to Fairview Park in Dublin.

The names of the deceased have not been released.
