If you have a hankering for Mexican food in downtown Macon, take your pick.

The latest choice for Mexican cuisine is Tzango at Lanier's, 336 Second St. It held its official grand opening this week.

Tzango's opening comes about four months after the opening of La Bella Morelia which opened at the corner of Poplar Street and Broadway.

Just outside of downtown, Sabor Latino opened in June on Riverside Drive in the former Metropolis Grill.

Bulmaro "Mario" Barragan, owner of Tzango at Lanier's, said his eatery is rooted in tradition.

"The type of cuisine that we do is all traditional ingredients," he said. "We cook in the tradition of our elders."

Barragan also owns Tzango Concina del Mundo on Hartley Bridge Road.

Tzango at Lanier's is open Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
