Although the school year just ended, the Bibb County School system is already looking ahead to next year.

They hosted a career fair on Saturday in hopes to meet and potentially hire new employees.

The district is looking for certified and classified positions.

New hire hopefuls had the chance to meet principals and staff that are in need of new additions for their teams.

HR coordinator for Bibb County Schools, Mallori Gattis, says holding this career fair helps them get a jump start on new hires for next year.

"Opportunity for face-to-face meetings [with] principals and hiring agencies from the district to get on-site interviews, potentially get on-site contracts as well,” said Gattis. “We're just here to give our principals an opportunity to prepare for next year as early as possible and make sure those people who are still looking for positions have a chance to meet with some principals who are still available."

Some applicants also participated in on-site interviews.
