A Dodge County drug store will pay the federal government more than $2 million to settle a complaint that they submitted false Medicare claims.
The US Attorney's office in Savannah says this is their biggest settlement ever of the federal False Claims Act.
Last year, we told you about the raid at the Rhine Drug Store in Rhine.
On Tuesday, the US Attorney says the store was billing Medicare for drugs that they didn't dispense and failed to keep proper records.
They say the drug store and druggist Carter Clements cooperated fully and there was no formal finding of guilt.
The Rhine Drug store put out their own news release saying they've been in business there since 1906 and with the settlement they're back to business as usual.
They said, "We do not believe that we have done anything wrong and therefore did not accept any fault."
