Ginger Stir-Fry & Grill in downtown Macon has a new owner.

Former owner Cesare Mammarella said he wasn't at liberty to say who the new owner is, but that person will be making an announcement in the coming weeks.

Mammarella said he sold Ginger to concentrate on his other businesses. The Mongolian stir-fry eatery that allows patrons to build their own entrees was part of Mammarella's Hot Plates Restaurant Group which operates several Macon businesses.

Most notable on his list will be expanding Emerson Ballroom on Plum Street and opening up the 3,500-square-feet of space over Barefoot Tavern on Second Street.

Mammarella is also the owner of Tic Toc Room on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, and Circa Brasserie on Forsyth Road.

Ginger will be closing for about four to five weeks as the new ownership takes over, Mammarella said adding that he's not sure if the new owner is going to keep the current format at the eatery.
