A family of ten was safe after a fire destroyed their home in east Macon Friday.

The fire happened at a home on Fulton Street near Lexington Street.

Macon-Bibb Fire Battalion Chief Ferrell Comer says crews are putting out the hot sports. He says the call came in around 3 a.m.

Six children and four adults were in the home at the time of the fire. None of them were injured.

The Red Cross is assisting the family.

No word on what caused the fire.
