Friday would have been music legend Gregg Allman's 70th birthday, so Macon decided to name the day Gregg Allman Day.
To honor his memory, the Big House Museum has new additions to their displays, including the original artwork for the Laid Back album, a belt worn by Gregg, and a suit he wore in the movie, "Rush."
Maggie Johnson, the Big House's marketing director, says they try to keep Gregg's legacy alive by playing Allman Brothers music through the house and surrounding themselves with his memory, the man who gave so much to Macon.
"Gregg, like I said, he brought Macon to the world -- you know, they talked about Macon, they lived in Macon. This is really where it all began, so people all around the world know Macon because of the Allman Brothers," said Johnson.
Johnson says they hope to throw a celebration in Gregg's honor. There are even talks of bringing the Allman Brothers band members who are still living to do a show in May.
