During the most wonderful time of the year, many people like to go out and look around for the best Christmas light displays.
Meteorologist Hunter Williams went to see the Watson family’s light display at 1403 Pate Rd. with his own eyes.
The light show travels up their driveway, which is about half a mile long, and includes music synchronized to the lights that you can tune into on your car radio.
“We’ve been doing it about 10 years now. We start at the very end of September [and] get everything pulled out to see what’s working, what’s not working, and then it starts going into the ground and we have it working until the day we open,” said Haleigh Watson.
Though they’ve been lighting up their driveway for the last decade, the set-up is constantly evolving.
“[It’s] all Christmas all the time, just adding new pieces. We put it together and go ‘we need more of this, we need more of that,”’ said Watson.
The Watson’s light display is currently neck and neck for 1st place in the Georgia Power Light Up the Holidays Contest.
The winning light display will win 4 VIP tickets to see Auburn vs. UCF in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl at the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
The best part is that you can help them get there, and you can vote once a day until Dec. 21.
