The school that lives by the motto, "One team, one dream," had a special surprise by someone from our team.
Junior Journalist Raines Murphy stopped by Kay Road Elementary School in Byron
Mrs. Joy Prince said that she was shocked and very surprised.
Prince is a Georgia College graduate who has taught 2nd and 3rd graders for the past 9 years.
Her focus is in math and science, and students like Avery New say Mrs. Prince taught her how to round to the nearest 100, as well as addition and subtraction.
"Every day she is there, she has a smile on her face from morning to afternoon. She's always happy to be there. I am so glad that Mrs. Prince is my teacher. She makes learning fun," says New.
Originally from Dublin, Mrs. Prince says she enjoys interacting with students, and making learning fun and exciting.
"I am very speechless and honored at the same time. I guess I am nervous," says Prince.
