A Macon man convicted of robbing a GameStop and assaulting a clerk has been sentenced to 20 years – with 10 of them in prison.
A release from the District Attorney’s office says 25-year-old Derrick Lamb was sentenced Monday after a bench trial that happened in November.
Lamb went to the GameStop on Presidential Parkway around 10 a.m. on June 30, 2016, and was looking at merchandise when he pulled out a bottle of lighter fluid and squirted it on a clerk.
Lamb demanded money and threatened to set the clerk on fire if he didn’t give it to him.
District Attorney David Cooke said, “The clerk wasn’t just robbed. He was placed in fear for his life. Now Mr. Lamb will have 10 years to think about his actions while living behind bars.”
