Bragg Jam is in full swing, but if you want to take a break from some of the concerts to see what downtown has to offer, the Macon Music Scavenger Hunt may just be the thing you've been looking for.

The hunt takes you around the downtown area to a bunch of important sites where musicians like Otis Redding and Gregg Allman hung out.

Nicole Butler tagged along with two friends on the scavenger hunt to see what she could find.

While some people are making their way to see their favorite musicians play at Bragg Jam, others are getting into the music another way with a scavenger hunt.

Scott Mitchell is the vice president of the Downtown Macon Community Association and says the hunt is more than just a fun thing to do.

They received a $10,000 downtown challenge grant in hopes of bringing more people into downtown's alleyways.

"We saw that the alleyways were underutilized and we thought if we could get people looking for the music heritage in the alleys, how much fun that would be," Mitchell said.

And what better way to promote it than by using social media? Mitchell says this is the perfect way to get the word out in today's tech-filled world.

"We just thought it would be fun if every time people are logging onto social media they see people taking selfies, having fun downtown, and more people will want to come downtown," Mitchell said.

Once you find your destination, all you need to do is take a selfie.

Then, you just post it to your social media accounts under #MaconMusicHunt.

You'll to have to do that 12 times before you can go back and claim your prize.

So if you want to know where Greg Allman proposed to Cher and many more fun facts, they encourage everyone to come and see the beauty and culture Macon has to offer.

The scavenger hunt is completely free and it is something that is fun for the whole family.

Mitchell says that if you don't have time this weekend because you're too busy rocking out, this scavenger hunt is here to stay.

Some of the places you can pick up a brochure to start the hunt are Travis Jean Emporium, Parish on Cherry, and Fatty's Pizza.
