A Macon teen is in stable condition after being shot in the calf while walking outside.

A news release from the Bibb Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to a person shot call at the Dollar General on Houston Avenue around 8 p.m. Friday.

It was reported to them that a 16-year-old was walking down a pathway behind the vacant Church’s Chicken when he heard gunfire and began running.

After he exited the pathway, he found he’d been shot in the calf.

He called 911 for help and was taken to the Medical Center, Navicent Health where he’s listed in stable condition.
