A Macon man is behind bars after he reportedly broke into his ex-girlfriend’s apartment and began shooting.
According to a news release from the Bibb Sheriff’s Office, the shooting happened at the Cherry Tree Hill Apartments on September 30.
Deputies responded to Coliseum Medical Center on September 30 after a man came into the emergency room with a gunshot wound.
Deputies were told the victim, 24-year-old Tommy Dumas, broke into his ex-girlfriend’s apartment armed with an assault rifle and began shooting.
One of the woman’s friends was in the apartment at the time and shot back at Dumas, hitting him twice.
The U.S. Marshals and Bibb deputies made the arrest Monday, November 13.
Dumas is charged with aggravated assault.
