One man is dead after a shooting at a Macon convenience store.

According to Lt. Randy Gonzalez with the Bibb Sheriff's Office, deputies received a call of a person down at the L & C Convenient Store on Hillcrest Blvd. Just after 10:00 p.m. Monday night, two customers say they found the man laying on the floor behind the counter bleeding. The customers also noticed the cash register was open and the drawer was empty.

When deputies arrived to the store, they found the man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to the Medical Center Navicent Health where he was pronounced dead by doctors at 10:44 p.m..

Chief Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley says the victim was 42-year-old Brijeshkumar Patel.
