It's showtime in Central Georgia. The Middle Georgia Regional Airport is transforming into the backdrop for the upcoming new Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson movie, "Rampage."

Crews spent all day trying to get a look at the set, but we couldn't see much. Spokesman Gregg Brilliant says they're trying to keep filming under wraps. The only thing we could see were several cars and trucks passing in and out of the airport.

According to the Macon Film Commission, this is just day one. Crews are scheduled to film there for the next two days. According to a press release from Warner Brothers, the movie is inspired by the 1980s video game that features apes and monsters that destroy cities. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is playing the lead role in the action film as a primatologist that's trying to save humanity and his friend, George, a mutated silverback gorilla.

The movie release date is set for April 20, 2018. The production company S&K Pictures signed a contract with the county allowing them to make changes to the airport buildings while filming. The company will spend about $45,000, just to film here for three days.
