Two people are dead after a shooting in Crisp County Wednesday night.

A 911 call was dispatched to the 900 block of West 15th Avenue, according to Deputy Coroner Jerome Outlaw.

Chief Rob Rodriguez confirmed that the two victims died on scene.

The case is being investigated as a double homicide by the Cordele Police Department, Crisp County Sheriff's Office and GBI.

The names of the victims have not yet been released. It is unknown if the victims were residents of the home.

Neighbor Mario Vinson said he heard six or seven shots, looked outside and saw his neighbor lying in front of the house.

"Walked right there to to the driveway and saw my homeboy lying out on the porch dead," he said.

He said he believed the second victim was a relative of his neighbor.

Vinson said the neighborhood is usually quiet and his neighbor is a nice guy who's not known to be in trouble.

"All he ever wanted to do was take care of his children," Vinson said.

He said his neighbor's girlfriend and her children were in the home when the shooting happened, and the girlfriend was screaming for help. Chief Rodriguez could not confirm that.
