New details emerge in Macon double homicide

Daija Jordan's family speaks out and the Bibb County Sheriff's Office is finding new clues after Macon's 14th homicide.

MACON — Daija Jordan's family is taking the loss of their sister and daughter hard. The family did not want to speak on camera, but they did say that they are remembering their sister for the great life she lived.

The scene on Bloomfield Drive is quiet compared to Wednesday morning. That's when 21-year-old Daija Jordan died from a gunshot wound to the face and 23-year-old Keyon Hogan died from multiple gunshot wounds to the chest.

Bibb County Deputy Joseph Vamper says they've already made progress in the case.

"We're still in the early phase of trying to develop several leads, we have conducted several interviews," Vamper said.

Vamper said two firearms were fired, but they do not have a solid count of shell casings yet.

Vamper said family and friends have come forward with tips pointing at who committed this crime.

"it's a possibility that it could be multiple people, several people, but we are not sure at the time," Vamper said.

Meanwhile, Daija Jordan's family is searching for answers. Her sister Bonita Jordan spoke with us over the phone and said her sister was a loving, caring, and sweet girl. Jordan said she hopes whoever killed her sister finds peace in their heart.

The two were Bibb County's 13th and 14th homicide of the year and Vamper said that everybody has to help in stopping the violence.

"I just ask for the help of the community to call in. We really need tips on this case and several other cases that we are working that are outstanding," Vamper said.

Vamper also said that BSO will be stepping up patrols in the area, and anyone with tips or information on the crime should call the Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 1-877-68-CRIME.
