People in places like South Georgia are now waking up to see what is left behind of their neighborhoods after Hurricane Matthew tore through.

Torrential rains lashed the coastline overnight near Savannah as the hurricane moved up from Florida.

Governor Nathan Deal warned of downed powerlines in the area on Friday.

Places like Tybee Island are still underwater and our sister station WTOC in Savannah says it's the second highest tide since Hurricane David back in 1979.
