Five students on the bus complained of injuries. Two were taken to the hospital by ambulance and the other three were taken by their parents to receive medical attention.

The driver of the car was also taken to the hospital.

Another bus picked up the rest of the students and took them home.


A bus carrying 41 students was rear-ended by a car at about 4 p.m. Tuesday at Hwy 57 and Crystal Drive in Macon.

No injuries have been reported. Some parents were picking up their children at the accident scene to take them to the hospital, according to an email from Stephanie Hartley, spokesperson for Bibb schools.
