The search is on for two people who allegedly stole iPhones from a Macon phone store Monday night.

Deputies responded to the Cricket Wireless on Pio Nono Avenue around 5:30 p.m.

They say two men stole iPhones and drove off in a silver vehicle.

A Bibb County deputy spotted the car around 8 p.m. on I-475 and chased them.

After that car chase ended near Bolingbroke, deputies arrested 22-year-old Jalen Ector. Two other suspects ran away.

One of them is described as a large person wearing a black shirt and baseball hat, the other wearing a red women's wig and a black shirt.

Those two suspects could be the same ones seen on surveillance video at another Cricket Wireless store Monday night at the Galleria Mall in Centerville.

Nabil Altousy is the manager of the store. He says two men came in and asked to purchase to iPhone 7s in cash.

A female employee brought the phones out and put them on the counter. That's when both men left to use the bathroom.

Altousy says says about 20 minutes later, the suspect wearing a black shirt and red wig came back and snatched the two phones from beneath the counter while the employee was in the stock room.

"This is the first time we've ever had this problem in the store, especially in the Galleria Mall, and we were shocked when she called to tell me two iPhones have been stolen at the mall. I thought we were in a secure spot here," says Altousy.

Centerville Police Chief Chuck Hadden says the incident is under investigation. He would not comment on if the two robberies are related.
