A man involved in a shooting death in Montezuma in September is now charged in a fatal stabbing there.
Aaron McDonald, 37, turned himself in to Montezuma police Monday and is charged with murder in the death of Daniel Louis Ford, 50.
Montezuma police officers were dispatched to Country Village Apartments on Vienna Road at about 5:49 p.m. Sunday. They arrived to find Ford suffering from apparent stab wounds, according to police.
Ford was taken by ambulance to Phoebe-Sumter Hospital in Americus where he was pronounced dead, according to police.
An arrest warrant has been issued for McDonald for felony murder, malice murder and aggravated assault, according to police.
McDonald was shot Sept. 3 as he struggled with another man for a gun during a fight, according to police. That other man, Willie Laster, was shot to death during the struggle.
That shooting happened in Montezuma as well on T E Moone Street.
The GBI said charges were not filed against McDonald in the shooting pending further discussion with the District Attorney's office.
The DA, Plez Hardin, could not be reached for comment.
