A teenager was arrested Saturday after leading deputies on a chase near downtown Macon.

According to Bibb deputy Clay Williams, they received a ‘dispute’ call and report of a stolen vehicle just after 8 p.m.

A deputy spotted the vehicle, a silver Ford Mustang, and tried to pull it over on Orange Street.

Williams says the driver, 17-year-old Jonathan Mancio, did not stop at first, but briefly stopped later down the road to let “multiple people” out of the car.

Mancio continued onto Vineville Avenue before getting in an accident as he was trying to get onto I-75.

Deputies found the car was not actually stolen.

Mancio was arrested and charged with fleeing and eluding officers, reckless driving, and possession of marijuana.
