A popular Macon restaurant reopened Thursday after being closed for two weeks for upgrades to the kitchen.
The Rookery's larger cooking space is expected to double their rate of production, according to owner Chad Evans.
In addition, the restaurant will now be able to process to-go orders during all hours of operation.
"Fundamentally what has happened is we have ramped up production," Evans said.
Aside from behind-the-scenes upgrades,‘phase two’ of remodeling will begin soon. Phase two consists of adding private dining rooms, more seating, another bar, and a stage.
"As far as the dining-in customer, it's going to be a second before you really see the rest of our work," he said.
Evans says patrons can expect the upgrades to be completed around Thanksgiving.
