A deputy was dispatched Sunday afternoon around 3 p.m. to the scene of a two-car accident on Emery Highway, according to a news release.

The driver of a 2005 Nissan Altima was traveling west on Emery Highway. 24-year-old Katherine Skelly from Toomsboro was driving a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee when she tried to make a left turn onto Emery Road from the eastbound lane of the highway.

The Jeep hit the Nissan and both drivers were taken to the hospital for injuries and are listed in stable condition.

Skelly was charged with failure to yield the right of way.
