Perry police have two people in custody in the death of Sam Poss.

Police Chief Stephen Lynn said during a news conference Thursday morning that Dakota White, 17, and Brandon Warren, 18, are in Houston County jail charged with murder.

Lynn said more charges could be added.

Poss has been missing since Saturday prompting a large search. He was last seen Saturday leaving Dakota White's home at 1102 Tucker Road, police have said.

Lynn said Poss was friends with White and Warren was an acquaintance. They all attended Perry High School.

White was arrested around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday before Poss' body was found, said Detective Quridsha Gilliam. Warren was arrested around 3 a.m. Thursday.

Police would not say how Poss was killed and they released few facts about the case due to the ongoing investigation.

Lynn also would not comment on the motive, but said he did not believe drugs were involved.

He said the two suspects were identiified due to a combination of tips and good investigative work.

He said Poss was killed inside in the city of Perry and his body was left about 4 or 5 miles away, in unincorporated Houston County.

He was found in a wooded area at Branch View Trail in Perry off of Lake Joy Road on Thursday morning, according to Houston County Coroner Danny Galpin.

That's about a block from Brandon Warren's home at 217 Brookwood Trail.

Sam Poss has been missing since Saturday.
