UPDATE, 8:53 p.m.:
The man found in the vacant house has been identified as 51-year-old Jeffrey McKuhen, according to Macon-Bibb coroner Leon Jones.
UPDATE, 6:36 p.m.:
Sgt. Linda Howard says that, at this time, deputies cannot determine if the man found in the home has a gunshot wound. She says the initial call was from the person who found him thought that he was shot.
Howard says the actual cause of death cannot be determined as of now, and an autopsy will be performed.
At this time, they are investigating it as a homicide and a suspicious death.
A dead body was found inside of a vacant south Macon home on Wednesday.
The home is located in the 1600 block of Houston Avenue, according to Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones.
Chief Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley says the person is a white male, possibly in his 50s or 60s.
He added that he was pronounced dead at 4:38 p.m.
The body was found with a gunshot wound, according Sgt. Linda Howard with the Bibb County Sheriff's Office.
She says investigators have not yet determined if this is a homicide.
