City of Warner Robins honors 200 veterans with breakfast

This is the first year the city has hosted a breakfast, but Mayor LaRhonda Patrick said she hopes to make it an annual event.

WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — Warner Robins canceled its annual Veterans Parade due to Nicole, but not the celebration of hometown vets.

Mayor LaRhonda Patrick and city leaders welcomed about 200 veterans for breakfast at the Wellston Center.

Thomas Philpot served in the Air Force from 1964 to 1968. He's proud to see so many folks honoring veterans.

"It's an opportunity to show the public and America how we appreciate our veterans and how we ought to appreciate our veterans," Philpot said. "It's a great opportunity to serve this country and fight for the things that are so important."
