Warner Robins prepares for 5A title game

As the countdown to kickoff winds down, people throughout Warner Robins are showing their Demon Pride.

McConnell-Talbert Stadium is ready and waiting for the 5A state football championship.

Warner Robins High School principal Chris McCook said the "whole Warner Robins family (is) fired up."

As the countdown to kickoff winds down, people throughout Warner Robins are showing their Demon Pride.

"It's been incredible. Phones are blowing up, Facebook's going crazy. The community's just going crazy. That's what's so unique about Houston County: we've got five high schools in this county and one school's still left in the state championship and everybody's pulling in their support to support the team," said Scot Ethridge, president of the Warner Robins Touchdown Club.

To help people get in the spirit, Etheridge and the touchdown club are selling Warner Robins T-shirts.

Seeb Lacey, co-owner of several Shane's Rib Shack locations ordered more than a dozen for his employees to wear on game day.

"We've been supporting the football team for the last couple years so we're just excited to continue the support," said Lacey.

Shane's wasn't the only business to get in on the action either. Etheridge said businesses across town have been changing their marquees to show their support for the demons. He adds that he's sold about 800 shirts to both businesses and fans over the last few weeks all in preparation for the big game.

"It's gonna be electric. If anybody's been to the Warner Robins-Northside games of the past where you had 15,000-20,000 fans there, we expect the same thing with the same level of excitement," said Ethridge.

As for the fans coming to cheer for Rome, Ethridge had a message for them.

"They better buckle up tight because they got 48 minutes in Demon Country," said Ethridge.
