UPDATE 6/13/15 2:51 p.m.:

Marcus Martin, who was last seen at his Perry home around 8 a.m. Friday, was found dead in his truck Saturday morning on Hall Road in Dooly County.

He died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest, according to a news release from the Houston County Sheriff's Office. Martin was found, the release states, by the Dooly County Sheriff's Office.

No foul play is suspected at this time,


Houston County Sheriff deputies are asking for the public's assistance in locating a missing man.

According to a news release, 45-year-old Marcus Martin was last seen at his Perry home, in the Lea Glen subdivision off Hwy 341 S, around 8 a.m. Friday.

He drives a 2012 white four-door Ford F-150 truck, and the tag number is DJI660. He's also a Georgia Southern alum which is shown on the front bumper tag.

According to Capt. John Holland, he left the house with no wallet or cell phone. Holland also said Martin is the vice president of a bank and the former president of the Perry Chamber of Commerce.
