LIBERTY COUNTY, Texas - A call to officials about a wild hog turned out to be something much different for deputies in Liberty County.
Around 9:30 a.m. Nov. 30, a concerned citizen called Liberty County Sheriff’s deputies to report a wild hog near Highway 321 and County Road 685, worried the animal might cause a car accident.
When deputies arrived, they did not find a wild hog. Instead, they discovered a very large domestic show pig in the caller’s yard secured with a dog leash. Deputies say the “gentle giant,” named “Miss Piggy,” was loaded onto a trailer without incident and eventually reunited with its owner.
The owner told deputies Miss Piggy is a prized show pig and has been passed down through his family. He said the pig completely destroyed her pen, but everyone was all smiles knowing Miss Piggy returned home safely.
