Dwight Howard's return to his hometown was a brief one year stint. ESPN and Yahoo are reporting the Atlanta Hawks are trading the center and their 31st pick to the Charlotte Hornets for Miles Plumlee, Marco Belinelli, and their 41st pick.

Howard averaged 13.5 points per game and 12.7 rebounds last year for the Hawks. Atlanta will get rid of a lot of salary cap space as Howard signed a 3 year 70.5 million dollar deal last July.

This is the first move for Hawks new general Manager Travis Schlenk.
