The Mercer Bears dropped to 3-1 on the year after Georgia came into Hawkins Arena and took down Mercer 72-54.
The Bears were rolling in the first quarter, but Georgia flipped the switch in the 2nd quarter to take the lead and they never looked back. The Bears shot poorly from the floor 35% and although Kahlia Lawrence led Mercer with 19 points, she was the only Bear who scored double digits.
The Bears hung with Georgia most of the game staying in reach of Georgia's lead, but with four minutes left in the contest, the Dawgs outscored Mercer 25-12 to give the Bears their first loss on the season.
The Bears will travel to Atlanta for the GSU Thanksgiving Classic and will play Western Kentucky.
