The Macon-Bibb County Fire Department puts out fires when on the job, and when they are off duty, they also do a pretty good job of cranking softballs out of the park

These firefighters traveled north to Dalton this past weekend to compete in the Georgia Police and Fire Games. It's a summer olympics style tournament where firefighters and police officers from around the state compete in events like softball, golf, basketball and they even have drills to determine the best firefighter and police officer in Georgia. The Macon-Bibb fire department competed in the softball tournament at the games and made it all the way to the championship final against Guns and Hoses, a law enforcement team in the metro Atlanta area. Macon-Bibb used a two run walk-off homerun in the second game to win their first softball championship.
