The Mercer Bears women's basketball team dismantled Winthrop 93-45 at Hawkins Arena to win their 6th straight contest. The Bears got off to a fast start jumping out to a quick 21-12 lead after the first quarter, and never slowed down.
Mercer was led by senior guard Kahlia Lawrence who scored 26 points, also grabbed 8 assists, and 7 rebounds. KeKe Calloway dropped a season high 24 points, just one point short of tying a career best.
The Bears got everyone involved and set a program record 33 assists, and shot 54.5% from the floor in the victory.
Sundays game was the first of a three-game home stand at Hawkins Arena. Up next, the Bears will host South Carolina State on Tuesday night.
