You may not be able to tell, but Ivey Johnson is making a comeback of sorts on the basketball court. The reserve guard hasn't touched a basketball since middle school, but it seems to be working out for the Lady Panthers.

Her coach agrees. "She's one of those that if we had all girls play as hard as Ivey does all the time, we'd be good to go," says Coach Jeff Winston.

"I love it; they always have good tips to share and they make it easier to play with the older kids," says Ivey Johnson.

The Perry High School sophomore sees back-up duty on the court trying to help the Lady Panthers however she can.

"Not a great shooter, but very aggressive and tenacious on defense.  Also, she is a great passer," says Winston.

She carries the same attitude in the classroom and attacks grades with the same passion she does sports.

Johnson adds, "Coach always says grades come before sports.  You got to get that together in the classroom before you showcase your talent on the field or court, so I always make that my prioroty."

So as the season dribbles on, Ivey says her game will improve and once her game is back, watch out.

"Im not the most talented in basketball, but I like getting out there and getting after it and give 100% in all I do," says Johnson.
