INTERNSHIPS: 13WMAZ offers a full-time or part-time opportunity to students for a quarterly or semester period. Since the internship program is unpaid, the student must receive academic credit for participation.

Students must:

Be a Junior or Senior in accredited college or university
Be able to work a minimum of 20 hours per week ? preferably 40 hours
Receive academic credit from the college or university they are attending
Be in good standing with school in terms of grades, conduct, etc.
Be able to commute at required times to the station
Show demonstrated interest in broadcasting
Dress appropriately for a professional environment
Have a positive, professional attitude.

Minimum qualifications for this position include:

Ability to teach Video Journalists and other news staff how to tell a story through pictures for Television and New Media platforms.
Advanced ability to shoot and edit news video within journalistic and ethical standards.
Advanced knowledge of safe operation of Electronic Newsgatherings (ENG) equipment including microwave trucks.
Deadline oriented.

Preference will be given to candidates with advanced experience in general assignment field videography and who demonstrate the ability to edit in both linear and non-linear formats.

13WMAZ is currently accepting applications for a full time MULTIMEDIA ASSOCIATE NEWS PRODUCER. in the 13WMAZ Information Center. Duties include: writing news stories, and editing video for all platforms, including 13WMAZ Eyewitness News, 13wmaz.com and our Mobile site, m.13wmaz.com; and showcasing that content under the supervision of producers and managers - by producing compelling TV newscasts, managing newscasts in the control room, and managing content on 13wmaz.com.

Minimum qualifications for this position include:

Four-year college degree, or one year of news writing or producing experience.
Strong writing and video-editing skills for broadcast and Web.
Strong interest in news and current events. Knowledge about Central Georgia is a plus.
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to operate a computer. Preference given to applicants who have experience with iNews newsroom computer system and Avid Newscutter video editing system.

Minimum qualifications for this position include:

Strong writing and storytelling skills and command of the English language.
Curiosity, passion to learn, and a strong interest in current affairs.
One year of professional TV news experience or 4-year college degree with TV news experience at student level.
Enthusiasm for new media technologies including writing and editing video for the web. Working knowledge of video photography and non-linear editing helpful. Working knowledge of Web publishing and design software such as Macromedia Dreamweaver and Adobe Photoshop is a plus.
