David Earl joined 13WMAZ in May 2012 as Eyewitness News Mornin' & Midday anchor and Multimedia Journalist. Originally from Joliet, Ill. in the Chicagoland area, he's thrilled to call Central Georgia home.
David fell in love with morning television while working at KOMU-TV in Columbia, Mo. as a substitute morning anchor, so he's got his dream job. He enjoys getting people caught up with what happened while they slept, and what they need to know for the day ahead. Yes, he's a heavy coffee drinker.
But David's not just a news anchor. He's also an award-winning journalist. He's reported stories from here in Central Georgia, in mid-Missouri, in Joplin, Mo., and even in Kansas City and San Francisco.
David graduated from the University of Missouri's School of Journalism with a degree in Journalism and minors in Political Science and Business. He's looking forward to following the new era of Mizzou Athletics in the SEC. Go Tigers!
In addition to work in local television news, David has had jobs in a global newsroom geared toward mobile news analysis (Newsy.com), as a writer for MIZZOU, the alumni magazine of the University of Missouri, a non-partisan U.S. Senate office and in the civil division of a county court system.
While David isn't at the anchor desk or out in the field, he takes naps, enjoys traveling, and can sometimes be found at a driving range.
