A Macon told police that an intruder broke into his house, robbed him and shot him.
The victim told police he was in bed when, shortly before 5 a.m., his home was broken into.
He said he investigated the noise and found a large man dressed in all black standing at the broken door. The intruder then pointed a chrome revolver at the homeowner, demanding money.
According to the news release, the man rifled through the victim's wallet then shot him in the back and fled.
Police found the victim laying on the floor, a gunshot wound to his back, in his home on the 300 block of Hortman Avenue, near Columbus Rd between Mercer University Blvd and Pio Nono Ave.
