Witnesses told deputies that a man walked into a west Bibb motel Thursday afternoon brandishing a large stick.
The Bibb County Sheriff's Office is looking for a man in his 40s, standing about 6-feet-tall with a medium build.
He was wearing a mask at the time of the attempted robbery as well as blue jeans and dark-colored T-shirt.
According to a news release, a man fitting that description entered the office of the Motel 6 on 4991 Harrison Road, near Eisenhower Parkway, and jumped atop the counter holding a large stick.
After the man jumped up on a counter in the motel office, the manager ran out the back door.
The would-be robber then ran away. He was last seen running south on Harrison Road towards Eisenhower Parkway.
No one was injured.
