ATLANTA (WXIA) -- We've heard that a lot of "lights, camera, action" the past couple of years in Atlanta, and you'll hear it the next few weeks in Cabbagetown.
Dumb and Dumber To (yes, that's how it's spelled) started shooting on Tuesday.
The film stars Jeff Daniels and Jim Carrey, whoare popping up across Atlanta in places like the VIP tent at Music Midtown.
The set is top secret. Crew members had to sign a 10-page confidentiality agreement to work on this movie.
Several blocks corned at Pearl Street and Kirkwood Avenue have been rented out and taken over by Tinseltown. They're not being used as is. This shoot requires painting, lots of facades of fake brick and other details to make Cabbagetown look like Rhode Island.
This film won't be released until 2014, but people in this neighborhood are enjoying playing host right now.
"It's been a nice addition. A lot of the individuals on the set have been coming in for coffee, a little bit of breakfast so it's actually been a nice addition for us," said Cabbagetown resident Shirley Hughes.
In the past year more than 350 productions have filmed here. That includes television, film and commercials. It adds up to a $3 billion economic impact.
The next big release from Atlanta is coming November 22 and it's huge: The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. That shoot was such a success that part three is shooting now, back in Atlanta.
