Mumford & Sons has had to cancel its show in Dallas tonight due to a medical emergency involving bassist Ted Dwane.
According the band's official site, Dwane had not been feeling well for a few days and was taken to the hospital, where scans revealed a blood clot on the surface of his brain. It will need to be removed, but a statement to fans reported that "Ted is receiving excellent care and we are being assured that he will recover quickly from surgery."
The band will postpone two other shows scheduled for this week, in Woodlands, Texas, and New Orleans on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively. The statement said that all performances will be rescheduled "and announced as quickly as we can."
Mumford just teamed with Elvis Costello on a cover of Bruce Springsteen's The Ghost of Tom Joad as part of agit8, a week-long music campaign launched by the ONE to fight poverty.
